Once you have secured an interview, make sure to conduct market research on the company. You should know who their competitors are, what is going on in the industry, and have an idea of their products and services. You should also think of a few questions to ask the interviewer.

Perform a self-assessment to decide which skills and qualities you want to highlight. Think about what your career goals are, what position interests you, and why. Also, think about the situations in which you have been successful or unsuccessful so that you can describe them to the interviewer.

On the interview day, make sure to sell yourself! You know your skills and accomplishments best. Reiterate the reasons that you would be best for the job. Get the interviewer’s name or business card to send a thank you note or email.
